Clinical Supervision

Cost: $175/hr

Are you looking for supervision that's less formal?  Do you want to have fun in supervision again?  Don't get me wrong, I'm still going to challenge you.  We're still going to talk about the hard stuff, but with some humour and swearing along the way.  If this sounds like what you're looking for in a supervisor, then I would be a good fit.

I supervise RPs, RSW, and RSSWs.  My supervision approach is informed by training in EMDR, Attachment and Trauma Based Approaches, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Brief Therapy.

I have over 18 years of experience in the mental health field as a child protection worker, community health worker and an employee assistance program therapist.  I've dealt with my share of bad supervisors over the years and learned from those experiences.

I would love an opportunity to become your supervisor and support you at whatever stage you're at in your journey as a therapist.  Whether you're just starting out, opening your own practice, or anywhere in between.

Clinical Supervision FAQs

Clinical supervision is a collaborative process where a therapist meets regularly with a more experienced clinician to review their work, strengthen their skills, and ensure they’re providing safe, effective, and ethical care.

Clinical supervision helps:

  • Maintain high standards of care and ethical practice,
  • Support ongoing learning and skill development, and
  • Prevent burnout and promote therapist well-being.

My style is relatively informal.  I've never been a fan of highly structured supervision because I find it doesn't allow any flexibility.

I like to make supervision about you and what you need.  If you need to talk about clients that you're struggling with, we'll do that.  If you need to talk about administrative stuff, like what should be in a consent form or how to write clinical notes, we'll talk about that.

I will still challenge you to think about things differently and find ways through the challenges you're having with clients.  I will also make sure we laugh and have some fun along the way.

This really depends on your practice and the number of clients you are seeing.  If you're dealing with a lot of trauma, high conflict or suicidality, I recommend that you come more often.  If you see a high volume of clients, I also recommend that you attend more frequently.

If you're a newer therapist or an RP Qualifiying, you need to attend supervision with me once a month (or more).

If you're a more experienced therapist, I recommend that you come to supervision every 4 to 6 weeks.

My rate is $175/hr.

I can also do a sliding scale rate for supervision.  Ask about this in your free consult.
