EMDR, Free Consult, In Person, Supervision, Talk Therapy
Are you looking for a therapist that understands the link between trauma and OCD and can help treat them both?
EMDR can help you re-process traumatic memories so they aren’t disturbing anymore. Talk therapy can help you learn new ways to understand your feelings. I-CBT is an upstream treatment for OCD which targets the obsessional doubt underlying the compulsion. I work with those who have experienced trauma to help them heal and gain a better understanding of how to move forward. I understand that trauma and intrusive thoughts often go hand in hand.
I offer a safe space for you to unpack the relationship patterns that haven’t been working, and explore how trauma and OCD have been impacting your life. Using an eclectic mix of therapy techniques, and a bit of humour, I can help you begin to feel like yourself again. This will help you re-gain confidence, re-establish connections and re-build a sense of safety.
From this stronger foundation you can move forward and not have your past trauma(s) continue to affect you in the present. You can learn how to re-shape obsessional narratives into reality based ones. By reconnecting with yourself, you can learn to regulate your emotions and set healthy boundaries in your relationships with yourself and others.
When I’m not working you’ll likely find me on my yoga mat. I’m a single parent to an 12-year old child and 4-year old cat. I also love to read.
